Job Description:
This is a great opportunity to join a talented HR team that is paving its way as our business grows globally  We are seeking a talented and ambitious HR Coordinator The ideal candidate will work to build an HR Infrastructure (policies, processes, procedures) that supports local needs while fitting into a larger division and corporate structure. This leader will also work very closely with business leaders – influencing how we utilize and develop our talent while also being hands-on with the day to day HR execution requirements. This role will also support Harris corporate employees located in our Rio office, and will travel on a regular basis to Macaé where the majority of our Brazil team is located. This is a high-visibility role reporting to the HR leader for our global business, with strong dotted-line reporting to the Brazil General Manager.

 Functional Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day HR support in the areas of compensation administration, employee engagement, employee relations, learning & development, legal compliance, measuring & reporting, performance management (including the proper use of discipline or other corrective actions and/or policy-practice interpretation) and staffing
  • Provide leadership, direction, counsel/coaching and business analytics that enables leaders to make sound talent decisions and promote employee engagement and healthy/positive/productive employee relations
  • Partner with client groups to build and execute upon talent plans in achievement of overall business strategy, objectives and goals
  • Identify and diagnose issues proactively and develop, recommend and implement root cause solutions that enhance employee engagement/experience and business results in a timely manner
  • Organization Change leadership – As an HR Coordinator you will work with your assigned business unit or functional team to focus on the talent and leadership sides of change – including creating and implementation of business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organizational structure, reward systems and culture.  The primary focus will be creating and implementing change management plans that enhance leadership capability, accelerating employee adoption and maximize employee engagement.  This position will be responsible for driving quicker adoption, increasing utilization and proficiency related to changes that impact employees and ultimately supporting delivery of improved business results that are scalable in a growing business model.  Change efforts may include team assimilations, system and process change, large-scale transformation, mergers & acquisitions among others.  
  • Participate and/or lead projects and special initiatives within and outside the HR function as assigned
  • Promotes high professional standards, positive interpersonal relationships and demonstrates Harris values at all times
 Required Qualifications:
  • University degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources function in a HR function.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in all HR functions - compensation administration, employee engagement, employee relations, learning & development, legal compliance, measuring & reporting, performance management (including the proper use of discipline or other corrective actions and/or policy-practice interpretation) and staffing
  • 5+ years working with Brazilian labor unions, including contract negotiations
  • 2+ years working for an American parent company
  • 5+ years of demonstrated (exceptional) communication skills – oral, written, presentation, ability to influence
  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably PeopleSoft
  • Ability to manage highly confidential information
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, likely <20%
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (oral, written, presentation, comprehension)

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Fluency in Spanish (oral, written, presentation, comprehension)
  • Project management experience desired
  • MBA preferred
  • Demonstrate active listening skills to identify root issues and cause and effect relationships
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to utilize analysis in order to recommend a course of action or decision that compels groups to move toward a shared vision and shared goals
  • Established track record of having delivered results in a dynamic, multi-national, fast-pace, changing matrixed environment
  • Proven bias for action and solutions orientation
  • Ability to relocate for career broadening/advancement opportunities
