Job Title
HSES Tech - TECNICO DE SEGURANÇA
Job Description

Coordinates safety program to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions or acts, utilizing knowledge of industrial processes and industrial health and safety regulations.
  • Audits equipment and machinery to identify unsafe conditions or inadequate procedures.
  • Supports the crews by providing and/or conducting safety training, safety meetings and audits with employees/supervisors to establish a safe working environment.
  • Provides safety and statistical reports to customer project representatives as well as McDermott Project Leaders and Safety Department.
  • Coordinates incident investigations, reviewing for completeness and accuracy as well as finding the true cause of accidents.
  • Helps identify incident trends.
  • Coordinates industrial hygiene and environmental efforts on projects and/or the vessel.  
  • Ensures, through the respective supervisors, that employees are in compliance with safe work behaviors and are wearing the necessary protective equipment.
  • Coordinates with supervision and safety committee members in all Safety, Health, Environmental and Industrial Hygiene Audits.

  •  Maintains onsite 90 day hazardous waste storage areas per RCRA rules and regluations.
  •  
  • Performs monthly visual observations of above ground storage tanks per SPCC/SWP3 plans.
  • Performs visual observations of vessels and barges per the Vessel General Permit for activities incidental to the normal operation of vessels.
  • Performs industrial hygiene surveys for noise, light and other contaminants per OSHA or NIOSH methods.  Compiles industrial hygiene data and reports to management.
  • Maintains used oil/oily water storage areas on the facility.  Schedules load out of used oil with third party vendors.
  • Monitors and records loading/unloading of SPCC regulated material per SPCC Plan.
  • Performs weekly visual inspections of satellite paint accumulation areas and maintains reports.
  • Maintains hazardous waste as a result of painting activities.
  • Maintains muncipal waste collection areas within the facility and coordinates with third party vendor for proper disposal
  • Other assigned duties.

Job Requirements
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
  • 1 to 3 years experience in a safety related occupation offshore is preferred.
